Braiding Technique

Basically Braids are a composition of textile, that is made by crossing yarns in diagonal directions. And quality of braiding is significantly dependent upon the strength of yarn and time that a braiding machine takes to process the threads. Braided products are having high load bearing capacity as compared with products made with any other technique. Braids are generally found (mostly hidden) for having several properties, that are highly beneficiary to wherever applied. Some of the applications of these braids are in candle wicks, clothes and shoes, water ski ropes, sash cords, mountaineering ropes, parachute lines, yachting ropes and many more. Given below are the types of braids:-

• Round Braids: This type of braid is having an oval or round cross section in between. Round Braiding is basically used for making Laces (used for clothes), Cords, Cables or Ropes.
• Flat Braids: This type of braiding is simply called lacing or flat braids. Having a special feature such as lower level of lateral stability, flat braids can be sewn to the textiles without any hassle. Apart from this, flat braids are often made with stiff and rigid after treatments or inserts.
